We
began our business in 1995 in various co-ops in Lambertville, New Jersey where we
experimented with an eclectic mix of antiques and collectibles and
discovered our attraction to the furniture produced during the Arts and
Crafts era during the first quarter of the twentieth
century. It was a time when nature, simplicity and functionality were
heralded in the United Kingdom by the likes of John Ruskin and William
Morris and introduced to the United States by Elbert Hubbard and Gustav Stickley,
key innovators and promoters of the Arts and Crafts Movement in Europe as
well as in America.
In 1997, our business relocated to New Hope, Pennsylvania
where we now operate our gallery. The move allowed us the opportunity
to focus and display mission furniture from the Arts and Crafts era in
settings which enables you to see the unique pieces from all
angles and determine if it would work in your home decor.
We
enjoy sharing with and learning from our customers the philosophy and impact the Arts and Crafts
Movement had on the style of living during the first quarter of the
twentieth century.
Allow us to help you
find that beautiful and unique piece that will add comfort and enhance the beauty of your
home.
